I Got a Bernina 220

I Got a Bernina 220

November 18, 2008

It is true.  I got a new sewing machine.  Actually, if I am going to be honest my mom bought be the machine.  I was sewing on my mother in laws mothers machine.  I must admit the machine was awesome and did everything I knew how to do.  I still use it when I can not figure out my new one.  The Bernina 220 is packed with stitches and whole smorgasbord of options.  I have spent the last few days, okay really weeks reading all of the options this thing has.  I love it, and just recently quilted some place-mats.  When I finish them I will be sure to post a beautiful picture.

Okay, back to the machine.  It does a ton of stuff and has a hand dandy thread cutter right on the machine.  I think this by far is one of the best features as it encourages to conserve your thread, which for me is a big deal as I used to pull it out and cut it so I would not de-thread the machine or bobbin.  This machine does it all for you.  Heck it even has a needle threader.  I must admit this was quite hard for me to learn to use, but know I know and boy does it save me time.

My mother in law lent me her old machine to see if I would like to sew.  I am pretty positive my hubby did not think I would run the course.  I must admit, I love to sew and wish I could do it all day long.  Anyone out there with little guys knows this is not an option as they are always up in your business.

Okay, back to the machine.  I love it but am somewhat intimidated by all of its bells and whistles.  I figure if I take it one day at a time I should be okay.  To think I wanted more bells and whistles.  This machine is so quiet.  I do not even think a mouse could hear me.  Do mice have good hearing?  Well, if they do not pretend they have the best hearing ever and then my comparison will make some sense.  Man, oh man, I crack myself up.  I sure hope you got some joy out of it.

I am good for now as this one will keep me occupied for quite awhile.

Lovely family members, do not be surprised if your Holiday gift is sewn personally by me.

Keep one rocking and rolling.
