Yep, It is true. I have been missing from my site for sometime now. Some of you may have noticed and some may have not. Well, here is the deal. Work has started back, and it have me exhausted. I swear. If I could I would go to be every night at seven. However, as you all know, this is not reality for anyone and so I stay up to grade and everything else under the sun. The normal everyday stuff a mom, teacher, friend, wife, daughter and sister deal with.
I know we all have our situations so I am not going into to much detail, but it wipes the beegeezers out of me everyday.
However, in the process I have had the opportunity to witness some quite clever conversations from my students this year.
Here is an example of what I get to hear on a daily basis. Before I type the conversation a bit of background needs to be given. We were working on a small writing assignment in class, when I went over to check on a certain student, for the purpose of the conversation we will call him Patrick.
Teacher: What are you doing?
Patrick: Brainstorming, but there is no precipitation.
A slight pause on the teachers part. She also starts to give Patrick some helpful ideas, while he chooses to well sit and ignore.
Teacher: Is it raining yet?
Patrick: Hmm, it is drizzling.
Are you serious? This is brilliant if you ask me. Most of the students around Patrick did not get it and thought he was off his rocker. Little did they know, he was exactly on, but way above their heads.
I think this is so amazing. It rocked and makes me laugh every-time I think about it.
I sure hope this story adds some spice to your life, as it sure has mine.
